I made a program that backups the Databases you specified, at a certain interval, in a selectable location.
The program is INDEPENDENT from SQL Server Agent.
Here's a screenshot of the program :
As you can see , it consists mainly in 2 parts : - the Settings area
- the Log Activity Area
HOW TO START IT ?
- Download the archive from the links and unzzip-it
- Open MuActiveBackup.exe
- You will see the window opening
- In the left side, enter the settings AS :
- In the first text box, enter the databases names, sepparated by comma. The databases name MUST be as they are defined in MSSQ: ( e.g. MuOnline,Muonline_Event,MuOnline_Ranking - for luciiano's s3 files )
- The interval to make the backups ( in minutes )
- The login parameters ( username ( default :sa ) and password )
- The MSSQL Server Name ( This can be found opening the Service Manager )
- Finally, you must set the folder that you want to use for the backups.
- Hit "SAVE" Button ( DO NOT FORGET THAT YOU MUST HIT SAVE BUTTON FOR CHANGES TO TAKE EFFECT ).
- Hit "START" Button
The backups that are produced are like this : MuOnlineYYYY-MM-DD-HH-II.bak ( MuOnline2009-03-07-10-30
CHANGES : - Version 1.2 Official Release
- Added a user Interface
- Added LOG window
- I's NOT dependent by SQL Server Agent anymore
- Added settings module
- Version 1.1
- Capacity to set the backup save path
- Version 1.0
- First Release
