The website was given to me by him as a gift but since no one is using it i decided to release it.

Just simple deny the access to this directory from all, then require(_once)/include(_once) the functions where you need them, after cleanup of the code of course

No idea what you understand under 'security', but this system is not secure for sure atm, even the forms are not properly filtered, if they're even filtered SERVER-SIDE

If I have time these days I'll download the system to clean all bugs and re-upload it.
